I reminding again because this exemption hurt the experience. There's no story and everything is based in levels with human interaction. Oh, let's not forget once again about the missing content. That is unless you're exploiting everything as an evil Mastermind and never being aware or courteous about what you're "trying" to achieve. However, it's possible to completely enjoy the game without them, while ranking up levels and currency, and it wouldn't make a difference. They're seemingly useful for matches but they're absolutely expensive and easily disposable. These could be used to obtain items locked away in "packs". Within every match, if succeeded, there's digital currency to be earned. That is unless matchmaking suddenly resets, or prolongs, because it couldn't find anybody! So now, you're supposed to already have them added to your group so nobody is left behind and harshly twist your fingers while hoping Masterminds stayed too. Anything you've completed, and rightfully earned, will vanish forever and you'll fail the missions. But during matchmaking, if the Mastermind is suddenly gone, the whole process is reset and whoever you tried to play with has vanished forever. Your entire experience demands human interaction and the conflicts following. Actually, also, you couldn't do that either because having CPU allies isn't anywhere to be found. There's no alternatives to matches aside human interaction if you're interested to play solo. This would've been better had there been options including playing with bots opposed to just human interaction. If I'm supposed to help my teammates escape, and not die, it's obviously unfair that time is lost upon attacks at the same time the wacky "Masterminds" are using every resource possible to deny literal survival. The amount of times this happened not only frustrated but made me question the direction. This immediately becomes annoying and uncontrollable especially when certain players are hellbent to abuse them too. Furthermore, if somehow they thrive, the Masterminds causing the chaos could easily abuse their resources to prevent Survivors from escaping. That's right, if characters are attacked then the limited time players are given to escape is changed without resorting to resources to increase it. These exploits are primarily regarding the concept of losing time within matches upon attacks. When Survivors are selected, they're given plenty of accessibility to protect themselves from anything except exploits. Playing matches aren't a hassle until you realize how simple exploitation is. I'm actively trying to comprehend but nothing more comes from this except mystery. I'm curious to know how these Masterminds achieved their goals between the events of this game's setting. As the player, I'm intrigued to know what's happening and where they go afterwards.

There's clearly a bigger story that wasn't told because it's heavily relying on repeating missions and not giving full context. It's the only information provided and not helping when attempting to connect the dots. These characters were kidnapped, injected with a virus, and forced to survive long enough without answers. Imagine a giant escape room but it's Raccoon City and there's no safety. Their goals are divisive but interconnected within the "story" that primarily forces playable characters to escape areas orchestrated by their creators. Some of these characters are familiar alumni in previous entries while others are entirely original. Resistance is another multiplayer entry in the Resident Evil franchise following four Survivors entrapped into endangering "tests" by bloodthirsty Masterminds. It's simply an overlooked but heavily underutilized project that could've achieved more had there been more content management.īut let's rewind to a proper introduction. The strategic design was intended to encourage players to use their wits even if they're the perpetrators during variable matches. It's similar to Resident Evil Outbreak but limited to four players utilizing teamwork to surpass hordes of traps, enemies, and puzzles. Posted: 19 January Resident Evil Resistance deserved better.
